December Update

By: Caroline Alex

As the new Main Street Williamston Executive Director, I am thrilled to inform the town about a wonderful opportunity we have coming up next week. The town will be hosting two well-respected National Trust Main Street Senior Program Officers and the Main Street South Carolina Director this coming Monday (December 9th) and Tuesday (December 10th).

The purpose of their visit is to conduct a baseline assessment of Williamston. This baseline assessment is key to establishing a successful Main Street program in Williamston. This is a chance for us all—town officials, community members, and business owners—to come together and capitalize on an opportunity to ensure a bright and prosperous future for the Town of Williamston.

In order to capitalize on this opportunity, we need you! We are having an open public session for the community to come express their visions for the revitalization of downtown Williamston and also help us identify the strengths and opportunities of downtown Williamston. This will also be a time to learn and understand more about the success and inner-workings of the Main Street program from the national and state level perspectives. So please, come out and help us lay the groundwork for a successful Main Street Williamston Program next Monday night!

The session is Monday December 9th, 2013 from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the Town Hall Council Chambers. Mark your calendars and plan on coming by. We look forward to seeing and hearing from you on Monday December 9th at 6:30pm in the Council Chambers!
