Williamston Christmas Parade – Thurs. Dec. 19 at 5 p.m.

The Williamston Christmas parade has been rescheduled for this Thursday, Dec. 19 beginning at 5 p.m.  Parade registrants are asked to begin lining up at 4 p.m. near Suntrust Bank. The Williamston Police Department will coordinate Public Safety Services. The parade route will begin at Hamilton Street and Greenville Drive and end with a turn at Minor Street near Town Hall.

“It has been an exceptional effort on the part of Mr. Smith (Parade Chairman) and the Parade Committee to make sure this event goes on this year in the safest and most enjoyable way possible,” Williamston Mayor Mack Durham said. “I applaud Mr. Smith and our Chief Taylor for diligently working to respond to community concerns and make this event happen. Please plan to come out and enjoy the Williamston Christmas Parade!”

The theme will be “Keep Christ in Christmas.” There is no fee to enter the parade. “Just bring plenty of candy to throw out along the way of the parade for enjoyment,” Parade Chairman Walter Smith Sr. said,
