Home invasion leaves one dead, 78-year-old wounded

According to reports, the intruder was shot in the chest by the homeowner who also suffered a gunshot would to the stomach. He was flown to Greenville Memorial Medical Center by helicopter and underwent surgery Monday night. He was listed in serious condition, according to Shore. According to Anderosn County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lt. Sheila Cole, the shooting occurred when the homeowner exchanged gun fire with the home invader, who fled the scene in a black sport utility vehicle. According to reports, a black utilityvehicle later took a gunshot victim to Greenville Memorial and then left. Pelzer EMS and Wren firefighters also responded to the call.
