Town of Pelzer water customers are under a boil water advisory today (Wed. Jan. 15) due to an 8 inch water main break that was discovered about 2 p.m. Tuesday. Town workers and West Utilities worked into the night to repair the break according to Pelzer Town Clerk Heather Holcombe.
Pelzer residents are advised to boil their water for drinking or cooking until furthur notice. Water samples have been taken and are being evaluated, Holcombe said. Town officials will post online and on social media when the water is cleared for drinking and cooking.
The water main break was on Orr St. in the upper mill village of Pelzer, Holcombe said. Only upper mill residents around Tabernacle Church were without water. Orr St. remains closed today (Wednesday) while repairs are being finalized.
