A pickup truck overturned on Beaverdam Road Saturday night, trapping the driver inside. When Williamston EMS and West Pelzer firefighters arrived they were told there was a man inside the truck, armed with a gun. The first responders retreated. Williamston police officers arrived along with sheriff’s deputies. Deputies surrounded the vehicle with guns drawn. After a few minutes there was no movement inside the truck and deputies approached the truck with weapons drawn. They discovered the man inside the truck dead. (Photo by David Rogers)
