PJFMS will be the first science, technology, engineering, ARTS, and math (STEAM) Middle School in Greenville County Schools.

Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School (PJFMS) is now accepting teaching applications for the 2014-15 school year. The new state-of-the art middle school, scheduled to open in August 2014 in the ICAR/Millennium Campus, will feature a unique environment where students can easily transition into the school with or without prior involvement in a project-based STEAM environment.

Students will receive a rigorous, well-rounded education using an inquiry and project-based learning model with flexible, block scheduling. Through projects, students will learn academic content, practice 21st Century skills such as collaboration, communication and critical thinking, and create high-quality, authentic products and presentations.

If you are interested in joining the faculty with this innovative approach to teaching, please apply to the Greenville County Schools applicant pool. Visit www.greenville.k12.sc.us and click on Employment Opportunities/How to Apply.

Additionally, please send a letter of interest, resume and a copy of your SC teaching certificate to phinnizefisherjobs@greenville.k12.sc.us. The tentative deadline for applicants is February 7, 2014; however, applications will be accepted until all positions have been filled.

For more information, please contact Dr. Jane Garraux, Principal at 452-0810 or Mr. Matt Critell, Program Director at 452-0805.
