Alleged shooter, victim remain in same hospital


Surviving victim identified

Anderson County Sheriff’s deputies continue to guard the hospital room of Jared Michael Williams, WM, age 34, the alleged gunman in a shooting incident Wednesday in which three people were fatally shot, according to Lt. Shelia B. Cole, Public Information Officer with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office. According to Cole, Williams is still being held at Greenville Memorial Hospital where he may undergo surgery for injuries sustained during yesterday’s incident.

The surviving victim, Tara Diane Hendricks, is also hospitalized at GMH; her injuries are reported as non-life threatening.

Autopsies are scheduled tomorrow (Friday) morning for the other victims.

Shooting victims have been identified as Wanda Anderson, 40, of Pelzer, Victor Vandegrift, 48, of Columbia, and Hank Eaton, 32, of Pelzer.

A Media Conference has been scheduled for 2pm tomorrow, Friday, March 7th and will be held at the Center of Excellence, 200 Bleckley Street, in Anderson.

Sheriff John Skipper and 10th Circuit Assistant Solicitor Rame Campbell are expected to provide information regarding criminal charges in the triple homicide incident.
