Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper recently announced that Major Garry Bryant was named the 2014 South Carolina Jail Administrator of the Year by the South Carolina Jail Administrators Association. The award is given annually by the Association during an annual conference and is selected by jail administrators from around the state.
Major Bryant was nominated by three different jail administrators from around the state for not only his service to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, but for his service to the Jail Administrators Association as a member of the board. Major Bryant also serves as mentor to newly appointed jail administrators from around the state and serves on various other boards and committees at the state level.
Major Bryant’s career began with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office. In 2006, he took the position of Jail Administrator with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
