Pig in the Park announces contest winners

Visitors to the Pig in the Park Barbecue Festival and Cookoff held in Williamston’s Mineral Spring Park enjoyed a variety of BBQ and live entertainment over the two day event. Organizer W. L. Cantrell said the event had a good response from the community.

Leading the South Carolina Barbecue Association (SCBA) judging team were Marshals Bob Jennings and Bill Walsh with help form Judi Lindsay and Tina Boan doing calculation. The following barbecue teams competed and are listed in their order of finish in the competition.

First Place Winner in the competition was Up In Smoke cooked by Brian Teique; Second Place went to Doko Smoke, cooked by Tony Crout and Third Place went to Pimp My Pig, cooked by Dean Price. Fourth place went to Elite BBQ Smokers, Jason W. Hardee and fifth place to Blind Swine BBQ, Mike Sanders.

Elmore; R & R BBQ, Ronnie Neely; Smok’n Brothers BBQ, Lyle J Hogue; Nut’n But Butts BBQ and Catering team, Frederick Miller.

The annual event is sponsored by the Williamston Masonic Lodge and The Town of Williamston.

Presents check – Williamston Mayor Mark Durham presented a check to Williamston Lodge Worshipful Master Van Ellison during the Pig in the Park Barbecue Festival and Cookoff held Saturday in Mineral Spring Park.
