CHARLES ‘HAROLD’ DAVIS
Charles Harold Davis, 76, of Piedmont, husband of Betty Bryson Davis, died Saturday, May 24, 2014.
Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late William Zedekiah and Mary Elizabeth Allen Davis.  A veteran of the United States Navy, he also retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad.  He was a member of Guthrie Grove Church of God of Abrahamic Faith,
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Drew Davis of Eaton, IN and Don Davis of Piedmont; sister, Pat Hunter of Williamston; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday  at Guthrie Grove Church of God of Abrahamic Faith. Entombment followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

ALFRED FERRANTE
Alfred Ferrante, 81, of Simpsonville, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at his home.
Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Luigi and Ethel J. Ferrante.
Surviving are his wife, Nora Ferrante of the home; daughters, Linda Cooper of Pelzer, Monique Ferrante of Texas, Marisol Ferrante of California, Carol Stout of Charleston, and Vickie Allen of the home; sons, Derik Ferrante of Virginia and Kevin Ferrante of Maryland; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Sunday, May 25 at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary with private burial.

WILMA N. LINDSEY
Wilma N. Lindsey, 84, of Piedmont, died Friday, May 23, 2014.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 27 at CSSC-Westville Funerals, Greenville.
Interment followed at Graceland Cemetery West.

CHARLES N. FINDLAY
Charles N. Findlay, 83, of Greer, husband of J. Jeannine Findlay, died Sunday, May 25, 2014.
Born in Aurora, IL, he was the son of the late Thomas and Hazel Gilmore Findlay.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict and retired from the Lockport Township Fire Department.
He is survived by four daughters, Fern Kinder of Lockport, IL, Francene Sandiford and Faye Findlay, both of Easley, and Charlene Proietta of Piedmont; five grandchildren; one brother, Nelson Findlay of St. Charles, IL; and one sister, Clara Ann Babel, of Big Rock, IL.
A memorial service was held May 28 at Boiling Springs Fire District, Station 4 Community Building in Greenville.
Memorials may be made to the Boiling Springs Fire District.

WILLIE MAE B. AVERY
Willie Mae Brown Avery, 91, widow of J.P. Avery, died May 25, 2014 at Magnolia Place of Greenville.
Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Nelson and Effie Jones Brown, and retired from Conestee Mills. She was a member of Pelham First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicki Wilson of Greer and Pamela Pittman of Pelzer; a son, Jimmy Wood of Greer; one sister, Dot Underwood of Greer; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Wood Mortuary. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

SARA ELLEN BRINSON LOLLIS
Sara Ellen Brinson Lollis, 82, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at her home in Belton.
She was born in Pelzer to the late William Ed and Laura D. Brinson.
She is survived by a brother, Aaron Brinson of Killeen, TX; two sisters, Elizabeth McAlister and Louise Garrett, both of Belton; children, Portia Gambrell, Sandra Dow, Wayne Lollis, Debbie McCall, all of Belton; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Lollis.
Funeral service was held Sunday, May 25 at Belton Church of God of Prophecy. Burial followed at Garden of Memories.

SANDRA HAMBY
Sandra Mae Ross Hamby, 66, of Pelzer, widow of Jerry Cooper Hamby, died Monday, May 26, 2014 at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Luther and Gladys Beatrice Clark Ross.  She was retired from the Kendall Company and formerly employed as manager of Hickory Point stores.  She was a member of the Pelzer First Baptist Church.
Surviving are son, Jeffrey Cooper Hamby of the home; sisters, Elaine Bruce of Simpsonville, Jackie King of Easley, Glenda Allen of Easley.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Pine Lawn Cemetery, Pelzer with Rev. Mike Morris officiating.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
The family members are at their respective homes.

KAREN ROMMELMEYER-HAMBY
Karen S. Rommelmeyer-Hamby, 56, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in New Jersey, she was the daughter of Willy F. Rommelmeyer and the late Dagmar Haase Rommelmeyer.
She worked for the Anderson-Independent.
Surviving are her husband, Douglas C. Hamby of the home; and father, Willy F. Rommelmeyer of Anderson.
Funeral services and burial were held Tuesday, May 27.

JEAN HOLCOMBE OUZTS
Jean Holcombe Ouzts, formerly of Piedmont, died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Pickens, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Eva Holcombe.
Widow of the late Lloyd H. Ouzts, Jr. she was twice married, first to the late J.D. Roberts.
She is survived by daughter, Nancy Roberts Greene; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; daughter Brenda Ouzts Mull and son Ray H. Ouzts.
She is also survived by daughter, Pamela Ouzts Sutherland; siblings, Johnny Holcombe; sister, Joan Gilstrap; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 28 at Mountain Springs Baptist Church. Burial followed in the old Mountain Springs Church Cemetery.
