The Palmetto Area Cultural Arts Center will offer two Summer Art Camps for ages 6 to 12 this summer. The camps will be offered in two sessions from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on June 23-27 and July 28 – Aug. 1, organizers said. Participants will be able to make their own pottery and glaze to paint it, collect textures with a 150 year history on a texture scavenger hunt,, design and race a sailboat, created artwork in 3-D, and create a version of a famous painting.
The summer arts camp will be held inthe new Palmetto Area Cultural Arts Center, located inthe old Armory building on Gossett St. in Williamston. The camp will be taught by certified art teachers Heather Dowell and Thomas Addison. The cost is $75 per student.
