Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents between Oct. 16 and Oct. 25:

Oct. 16 – Williamston Police Officers investigated a dog bite incident in Mineral Spring Park. According to reports the complainant’s son was bitten by what she described as a lavender pit bull. A phone number was obtained from the dog’s owner and a photograph taken of the dog’s rabies tag which was dated 2009. Officers attempted to contact the number and spoke with a rude female who refused to cooperate with questions. The child was taken to the emergency room. T. L. Eichelberger investigated.

Oct. 17 – Michael Joseph Mims, 47, 16 W. Second St., Williamston was arrested for outstanding bench warrant after officers responded to the location in reference to a disturbance.

Oct. 18 – Jarred Andrew Witmore, 18, 600 South Hamilton St., Williamston was arrested for simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia after a red Dodge Dakota was observed on Main Street with a broken taillight. A clear jar with two marijuana roaches was observed in the vehicle glove box. A further search of the vehicle resulted in a clear plastic baggie containing 1.2 grams of marijuan between the drivers seat and the console. Three packs of rolling papers were also found in the console. Charges include no proof of insurance. Cpl. L. E. Mulz investigated.

Oct. 20 – Clyde Edward Whitmire, 26, 700 Dean Springs Road, Williamston and another person not identified in the report, were placed on trespass notice for Parkview Apartment after officers received a complaint. The two subjects were placed on trespass notice for the apartments after being observed at the Mineral Spring Park bathrooms. Cpl. L. E. Mulz, C. Samuel investigated.

Oct. 21 – Officers were dispatched to 7 East First Street in reference to an assault in which a 34 year old female reported being choked and squeezed over a two hour period. The victim also complained of her hips and back hurting. The case remains under investigation. J. T. Hunt, Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

Oct. 23 – Jason Lane Ellison, 18, 33 Blake St., Belton was arrested for outstanding bench warrants for simple possession of marijuana, trespassing and malicious damage to personal property after WPD was notified that he was in custody with the Belton Police Department. M. E. Simmons investigated.

Oct. 24 – Officers were dispatched to Sun Trust Bank, 1 North Hamilton St., Williamston in reference to a camera/recording device which had been pried off the ATM machine. The incident remains under investigation. G. Cremer, Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

Oct. 25 – Johnathon J. Barron, 27, 407 Clark Ln., Anderson was arrested for driving under suspension after officers observed a blue Honda with the passenger side headlight out. R. Drennon investigated.

Oct. 25 – Salvador Murrillo, 54, 121 Kirsh Dr., Williamston was arrested for no driver’s license and public drunk disorderly after a suspicious vehicle, a red Plymouth mini van, was observed at 1525 Anderson Dr. Officers T. Eichelberger and R. Drennon assisted Anderson County Sheriff’s Office with the incident.

Oct. 25 – Deeanna Michelle Acorn, 21, 316 Ragsdale Rd., Greenville was arrested for assault and disorderly conduct after officers were dispatched to 12 Bruce Rd., in reference to a disturbance. Reports state she was almost struck by several vehicles and appeared to be intentionally trying to run in front of traffic. After attempting to restrain her she was tazed and EMS was called. With help from West Pelzer Police Officer Sparks and an Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputy and another EMS unit, she was eventually restrained on a gurney and transported to AnMed for help. T. L.
