Merry Christmas Pageant registration underway

The Williamston Merry Christmas Pageant for children ages 1 day to 19 years will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23 at the Williamston Municipal Center. All crowned winners will be invited to appear at the Williamston Christmas Park opening and the Pelzer and Williamston Christmas parades.

Deadline for entry is Friday, Nov. 15. There will be a mandatory contestant rehearsal on Friday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. at the Williamston Municipal Center, organizers said. Entry forms are available at the Williamston Municipal Center, The Journal , K&M Dance House and Debra’s Designs.

Entry fee is $25 with additional fees for each category. Admission is $5 per person, $3 for seniors and students. Children under 5 are free. The pageant is sponsored by the Springwater Committee and K&M Dance House. All proceeds will go toward Mineral Spring Park.

Dress attire is Christmas pajamas, Winter Wear, Sunday best, Christmas dresses and pageant dresses.

Categories for boys and girls will include: 1 day – 1 year Baby Merry Christmas; 2-4 Toddler Merry Christmas; 5-7 Tiny Merry Christmas; 8-10 Mini Merry Christmas; 11-13 Young Merry Christmas; 14-16 Junior Merry Christmas and 17-19 Teen Merry Christmas.

Overalls for 1 day to age 10 will include Prince and Princess Merry Christmas, Pajama Wear, Photogenic, Best Hair, Best Eyes, Best Smile

Overalls ages 11-19 include King and Queen Merry Christmas, Winter Wear, Talent with 1st through 3rd and runners up, Photogenic, Best Hair, Best Eyes, Best Smile will receive awards.

Each age group winner will receive a crown. Overall Prince and King winner will receive a large crown, sash and plaque.

There will be no double crowning, one winner per age category plus overall winners and out of town judges to select the winners.
