While the victim and his family were out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday, Lewis and Summerall allegedly broke into the residence and stole goods valued at over $23,000; including firearms, cameras, computer equipment and jewelry.

Based on information obtained during the investigation, a search warrant was procured and served on the suspects’ residence on Market Street in Williamston. Numerous items of the stolen property were recovered. Summerall was arrested on January 14 near a relative’s home in Pelzer. Her bond has been denied. Lewis was located in Greenville County and taken into custody yesterday evening, with the aid of the US Marshal Service. He has not yet gone before the Magistrate who will set bond.

A hold has also been placed on Lewis by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office for pending Assault & Battery charges in their jurisdiction.

Sheriff John Skipper said, “Investigators did an excellent job in this case. Not only were Lewis and Summerall pawning items stolen during the burglary, they were also in the process of opening several new credit card accounts using the victims’ identity. Investigators were able to stop them before the cards were activated.”
