South Greenville firefighters wait on investigators to finish their investigation at the scene of a fatal accident on Highway 418 at Fork Shoals Road on Sunday night. According to SC Hwy. Patrol, a Kia minivan apparently crossed the center line and struck an 18 wheeler. The van was then knocked into an oncoming SUV. A man in the van was ejected and run over by another vehcile.
The Greenville County Coroner’s office said the driver of the van, identified as 69 year old William Gentry of Piedmont,died at the scene. The driver of the SUV was transported by Greenville County EMS to Greenville Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. (Photo by David Rogers)
According to troopers the driver of a KIA minivan crossed into on-coming traffic and hit a tractor trailer. Troopers said the van then hit a SUV head-on and the driver was ejected from the van and then run over by a pick-up truck. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
