The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has located a body in a wooded area off of Coldwater Lane in Anderson. According to investigators, they were conducting a follow-up investigation concerning a missing person report, when the body was discovered by cadaver dogs, provided by Foothills Search and Rescue.
The body is badly decomposed and has not been identified at this time. The Anderson County Coroner’s Office also responded to the scene and an autopsy will be conducted tomorrow to determine the cause of death and the identity of the person located.
At this time, there does not appear to be any signs of trauma to the body but further details, including cause of death, will be determined as the result of the autopsy.
