The Piedmont man wanted on charges of attempted murder in connection with an incident last week in which a vehicle was run off Palmetto Road and crashed has been arrested. Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jason Freedom Reid, 37, on Saturday. He is charged with two counts of atempted murder of Mitchell Ray Carroll and Kristin Nicole Queen. Sheriff’s Deputies have been searching for Reid since the January 31 incident in which the Honda Accord they were in was hit from behind on Lebby Street in Pelzer and then forced off the road.

After the Honda turned onto Palmetto Road in Pelzer, Reid’s vehicle struck the Honda again, forcing it to leave the roadway and strike a tree. After unsuccessfully attempting to remove Carroll from the vehicle, Reid and another unknown white male fled the scene.

Carroll and Queen were transported by Pelzer EMS to Greenville Memorial Hospital. Carroll was treated and released; Queen was admitted.

Reid is being held at the Anderson County Detention Center on $150,000 bail.

The case remains under investigation and authorities are still searching for the other unidentified man who was with Reid when the incident occurred.
