West Pelzer Police Department investigated the following incidents:
Mar. 29 – Lyndon Wallace Smith, 65, 1005 Oak Street, Columbia, SC was arrested for driving violation, open container and simple possession of marijuana after a white Toyota with a Georgia tag was observed going 48 mph in a 35 mph zone on Main St. During a search of the vehicle, four open Heineken beers and a marijuana cigarette were found in the vehicle. C. Brewer investigated.
Mar. 27 – Kenneth Douglas Erwin, 28, 106 Briar Ridge, Williamston was arrested for driving under suspension, failure to register and operating an uninsured vehicle after a black moped was observed going 35 mph. Under SC law, a vehicle with a moped tag cannot go faster than 30 mph on level land.
Mar. 27 – Dalea G. Davis, 34, 4 Buick Court, Piedmont was placed on trespass notice for 2 Main St., West Pelzer (Dollar General) after being observed in the store. C. Brewer investigated.
Mar. 18 – John Bradley Ashmore, 46, 1244B Chapman Road, Belton was arrested for driving under suspension, failure to register and operating an uninsured vehicle after a moped was observed traveling 33 mph on Depot Road. Under SC law, a vehicle with a moped tag cannot go faster than 30 mph on level land.
Mar. 19 – Ronald Patrick Tarrant, 27, 400 Tripp St., Williamston was arrested for outstanding warrant with Orangeburg County for breach of trust after a white Oldsmobile sedan was observed on Hwy. 8 traveling 45 mph in a 35 mph zone. D. Brewer investigated.
