PATRICIA ANN ROBERTS

Patricia Ann Roberts, 73, formerly of Williamston, widow of Paul Franklin Roberts, died March 25, 2015 in Athens, GA at Regional Health Center Hospice.

Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Paul Denzil Harrison, Sr. and the late Nora Mae Welborn Harrison.

She attended Pelzer Elementary School and Palmetto High School.

She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Surviving are children, Teresa Ann Lollis English of Belton, David Lee Lollis of Nazareth, PA, Scott Eric Lollis of Tannersville, PA, Sheila Renee Lollis of Jim Thorpe, PA; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Eleanor Harrison Babb of Piedmont.

Predeceased are grandson Matthew Lee English; and brothers, Paul D. Harrison and Tommy J. Harrison.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4 at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Pelzer.

The family will receive friends after the service.

RUFUS LOVETT

Rufus Clarence Lovett, 80, of Philadelphia, PA, died on Saturday, March 28, 2015.

He was born, in Jacksonville, Florida, a son of the late Rufus Clarence, Sr. and Virginia Louise Canady Lovett. He was a former resident of Piedmont. He was a longtime member of Rehoboth Baptist Church and Freedom Fellowship Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jean E. Golden Lovett; son, Ken Lovett; one grandson, all of Philadelphia, PA; sisters, Bettie Lovett Pierce of Dallas, TX, Sharon Lovett Beatty of Mobile, AL; and brother, Rufus Wayne Lovett of Islandton, SC.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 2, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, 52 Main St., Pelzer. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.

Memorials may be made to Chestnut Hill Baptist Church, 2 Bethlehem Pike, Philadelphia, PA 19118.

ELIZABETH CAMPBELL

Elizabeth Chandler Campbell, 91, of Williamston, widow of W. B. “Bill” Campbell, Sr., died March 31, 2015 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late James Robert Chandler, Sr. and the late Feddie Woodson Chandler. She was retired from Duke Power and was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church.

Surviving are five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m Thursday, April 2 at Sullivan-King Mortuary. Burial will folow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the service at the mortuary. The family will be at the residence.

BOBBIE BOLDEN

Bobbie N. Bolden, 79, of Greenville, died Friday, March 27, 2015 at her home.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Gother and Frances Moore Smith.

Surviving are daughters, Minister Deborah Smith of Greenville; Carrie Lee Burgess of Franklin, NC, Sylvia Hopkins of Pelzer; son, Edgar Smith of Greenville; sister, Verbal Ann Whitner of Simpsonville; brother, Ira Smith of Greenville; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 2 at 2 p.m. at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

HAROLD ELZIE SMITH

Harold Elzie Smith, 75, of Piedmont, husband of Shirley Tripp Smith, died Wdnesday, March 25, 2015.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late L.A. and Nina Browning Smith.

She was a member of Truth Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are, sister, Sherrie Fowler of Piedmont; two brothers, Luke Smith of Piedmont and PJ Smith of Greenville; and an adopted brother, Marty Smith of Piedmont.

Funeral service was held Saturday, March 28 at Truth Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

RONALD JOHN TANNERY

Ronald John Tannery, 67, of Greer, died March 26, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late John Lester and Louise McCall Tannery, a member of Zion Assembly Church of God, and was a US Navy veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Faye Saylors Tannery of the home; two stepdaughters, Charlene Kirby of Greer, and Sherry Bushek of Katy, TX; one brother, Tommy Tannery of Lawrenceville, GA; two sisters, Karen Cooper of Greenville and Martha Smith of Powdersville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday at The Wood Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.

DORIS RIDGEWAY WHITWORTH

Doris Daniel Ridgeway Barnes Whitworth, 92, of Elberton, died Friday, March 27, 2015 at Nancy Hart Nursing Center.

She was born in Elbert County, GA  to the late Henry and Ruby Robinson Daniel.

She was a retired LPN from Elbert Memorial Hospital and was a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church.

Surviving are eight children, Darrell Ridgeway of Williamston, Tom Ridgeway of Macon, GA, Janice Tomlin of Columbus, GA, Karen Sanders Greenway of Elberton, GA, Patti Berryman of Elberton, GA, Teresa Hudgins of Elberton, GA, Vallerie Brooks of Elberton, and Steve Ridgeway of Calhoun Falls; 27 grandchildren; 100 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three husbands, Jack Ridgeway, Gaines Barnes, and Tommy Whitworth.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 29 in the First Baptist Church of Elberton.  Interment followed in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

DAVID SANDERS

WILLIAMSTON – Norman David Sanders, Sr., 68, husband of Ann Wood Sanders, died Tuesday, March 25, 2015.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late William “Bill” and Opal Pauline Fowler Sanders. He retired from NW White Trucking.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Sara Carson (Steve) of Piedmont and Edith Chapman (Lee) of Pelzer; son, David Sanders, Jr. (Elaine) of Anderson; brother, Rufus Sanders of Travelers Rest; sister, Nola Ann Sanders; grandchildren, Samantha, Zack, Emily, Chloe, Elizabeth and  Gunnar; great-grandchildren, Maddison and C.J.

Predeceased by brothers, Dennis, Ed and Hubert Sanders.

Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 27 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The service was held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 28 in the funeral home chapel.

MARGARET JONES

WILLIAMSTON – Margaret Ann McGill Jones, 81, widow of Charles Edwin Jones, died Thursday, March 26, 2015.

Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late James “Jim” Bowen and Ruby Reed McGill. She was a retired civil service employee and a member of McGregor Baptist Church in Ft. Meyers, FL.

She is survived by sisters, Jo Hall of Pelzer, Jimmie Chandler of Pelzer and Louise Jordan (Joe) of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 2 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.

LEILA SWORDS BROCK

WILLIAMSTON – Leila Swords Brock, 94, widow of John Henry Brock of 432 McAllister Rd., died Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Liberty, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Joe William and Amanda Swords. She was a homemaker and a member of Golden Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are: sons, Fred Brock and wife Elaine, Johnny Brock and Milton Brock all of Williamston; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Jones.

Graveside services were held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Whitefield Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends following the service at the cemetery.

The family will be at the home of her son, Fred Brock, 2200 Anderson Hwy., Williamston, SC 29697.

Cox Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

MIKE BURGESS

Harrison Michael “Mike” Burgess, 62, of Williamston, died Saturday, March 28, 2015.

Born in Anderson County, he was the son of Harrison Clifton Burgess and the late Barbara Strickland Burgess. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Surviving in addition to his father, are his son, Chris Burgess of Williamston; sisters, Sherry Gentry, Janet Kelly; step-sisters, Diane Thrasher, Jackie Bull; and two grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, March 31, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Belton.
