Nancy Snedella Cape, 56, of  Honea Path, died April 14, 2015.

She was employed with Greenville County Real Properties.

Survivors include son, Joseph Mayer of Travelers Rest; step-daughters, Amanda Ford  of Pelzer, Tasha Cape of Simpsonville; former husband and special friend, Frank Cape; three grandchildren; and step-granddaughter.

Funeral service was held Sunday in the funeral home chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

RICHARD ELLISON

Richard Matthew Ellison, 92, husband of the late Ruby Nell Sightler Ellison, died Sunday, April 19, 2015 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Anderson, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a son of the late Matthew and Iva Elrod Ellison and was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran.

He retired from Sullivan Hardware Co. in Belton. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Belton.

Surviving are two sons, Dan R. Ellison of Cadiz, KY and Mark J. Ellison of Williamston; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

BOBBIE T. FOSTER

Bobbie Tollison Foster, 80, of Williamston, widow of Kenneth Foster, died on Saturday, April 18, 2015.

Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Bradley and Nettie Davis Tollison.  She was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.

Survivors include son, Brad Foster; and one granddaughter.

A graveside service was held Wednesday at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial may be made to Rainey Hospice House or the Christian Learning Center.

BRENDA LEE

Brenda Lee, 51, of Piedmont, wife of Ronnie Emmett Lee, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Mary Juanita Simmons Davis.

Surviving in addition to her husband are; four children, Jessica Lee, Cheryl Lee, Ronnie Lee, III, and Rachel Hollifield; two grandchildren; one sister, Diane Hollifield; and three brothers, Larry, Glenn, and Jack Davis.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, April 21 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel.

BARRY NATHAN HOLT

Barry Nathan  Holt, 54, of Travelers Rest, died Thursday, April 16, 2015.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of Barbara Holt Poole and the late Billy N. Holt.

He was a Computer Network Support Specialist and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a son, Nathan Holt of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Megan Holt of Piedmont; step-father, Samuel Poole; and three step-brothers, Sam Poole, Henry Poole, and Russell Poole.

The family received friends Sunday at the Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest.

ELAINE NEELY

WILLIAMSTON – Elaine Hamby Neely, 69, wife of Jim Neely, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Helen Dorsey Hamby.  She was a member of Beech Springs Tabernacle.

Survivors include her husband, daughters, Tammy Rene-Young of Powdersville, Rachel Christina “Chris” Owens of Belton; son, Tony Whitlock of West Pelzer; step-daughters, Robin Crawford and Karen Cochrane, both of Williamston; brother, Roger Hamby of Piedmont; sisters, Judy Capps of Piedmont, Tracey Wood of Easley; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The funeral was at 2 pm Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.  Burial followed in Pine Lawn Cemetery, Pelzer.

The family is at the home of Robin and Edward Crawford, 40 Camelia Circle, Williamston.

RONNIE MADDOX

Ronnie Wayne Maddox, 51, of Belton, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Anderson County, he was the son of Laura Calrter Maddox and the late Roy Marion Maddox. He was a member of Barkers Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Belton are: son, Steven Maddox of Honea Path; daughter, Chrystal Church of Anderson; sister, Debbie Whiten of Powdersville; four grandchildren; and former wife, Martha Maddox.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 18 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial was held.

FRANCES BOLT LANFORD RIGSBY

Frances Bolt Lanford Rigsby, 90, of Hickory Tavern, died Sunday April 19, 2015 at her home.

Born in Laurens County, she was a daughter of the late J.L. and Clara Knight Bolt. She retired from Hickory Tavern Sportswear and was a member of Rabun Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, James Patrick Lanford, Jr. of Clinton; brother, James D. Bolt of Hickory Tavern; sisters, Margaret Banks of Hickory Tavern, Geneva Busby of Belton, Mildred Bolt of Hickory Tavern, Betty Bagwell of Honea Path, Dora Davis of Piedmont, and Martha Bolt of Hickory Tavern; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, James Patrick Lanford, Sr. and Ray Walter Rigsby.

Funeral service was held Tuesday at Rabun Creek Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

BETTY A. NICHOLS

Betty Ann Macomson Nichols, 68, of Anderson, died Friday, April 17, 2015 at her home.

Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late William Calvin Macomson and the late Evelyn Lollis Macomson. She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are two sons, Randy Eugene Nichols and Kevin Bruce Nichols, both of Anderson; and one brother, Bill Macomson of Williamston.

Graveside services were held Sunday, April 19 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

CMSGT. JOHN RAY REEVES, USAF RET.

CMSgt. John Ray Reeves, USAF Ret., 77, of Hanahan, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015.

Born in Pickens, he was a son of the late Waddy A. Reeves and the late Liza Queen Reeves.

He was a Vietnam War Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from civil service at the Charleston Air Force Base.

He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” R. Arnold of Greenville; two sons, John Ray Reeves, Jr. of Pickens and Mark Coleman Reeves of Williamston; mother of his children, Georgia H. Harvey of Pickens; former spouse, Linda Pace Reeves of North Charleston; brother, James A. Reeves of Pickens; sisters, Emma Lou Grant of Pickens and Janette Hamlin of Pelzer; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; step-son, Rick Brezeale of North Charleston; four step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 19 in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.

RUBY LANGSTON WALDROP

Ruby Langston Waldrop, 83, of Fountain Inn, died Friday, April 17, 2015.

She was predeceased by two husbands, Ralph Langston of Belton and James Waldrop of Fountain Inn.

Surviving are her children, Robert and Judy Langston of Belton, Sue Ragsdale of Piedmont, Kathy and Don Ausburn of Piedmont, Pamela Renee Langston Garrett of the home, and Shelia Neves of Piedmont; a brother, Calvin Norwood of Simpsonville; sister, Rosie Barbare of Conestee; 25 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral service was held Monday, April 20 at Fletcher Funeral Service. Burial followed in Barker’s Creek Cemetery in Honea Path.

WALTER LEE SUTHERLAND

Walter Lee Sutherland, 85, husband of Leta Harkness Sutherland, of Piedmont, died April 21, 2015.

He was born in Prescott, KS to the late George Walter and Florence Ham Sutherland.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Pelzer and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean war.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Ron, Dan, and Tim; daughter, Marilyn Eshelman; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Grace Baptist Church. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

LOUISE S. FENNELL

Louise Sloan Fennell, of The Commons, Easley, wife of Roger C. Fennell, died Monday, April 20, 2015.

Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Guy H. Sloan and Gladys Stephens Sloan.

She was formerly employed with Teleco in Greenville and was a member of Berea Heights Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Sherri Thompson of Greer; one step-grandson; five sisters, Bobbie Thrasher of Iva, Guynell King of Piedmont, Doris Rogers of Pelzer, Ruby Greene and Judy Kelley, both of Easley; and three brothers, Joel Sloan of Gallatin, TN, Steve Sloan, and Thomas Sloan, both of Easley.

Funeral services will be held  Thursday, April 23 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will recieve friends prior to the service from 1 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

MARTHA ‘MARTY’ MERRITT ROGERS

Martha “Marty” Merritt Rogers, 63, of Piedmont, wife of Thomas Ronald Rogers died Thursday, April 16, 2015.

She was born in Laurinburg, NC, daughter of the late Sheldon Ceaders Merritt, Jr. and Margaret Stewart Merritt. She was employed by Greenville Fluid Systems.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Ronald Rogers of Piedmont; son, Eric Rogers of Wadmalaw; three brothers, John Merritt, Fred Merritt, and Sheldon C. Merritt, III, all of Florida; and sister, Jimmie Melton of Piedmont.

All services were private.
