Williamston Police Report

Williamston Police Officers investigated a variety of incidents including thefts, vandalism, assalts and several drug related. Among incidents investigted were:

Apr. 13 – Steve Billy Davenport, 48, 113 Mackey St., Williamston was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of schedule IV narcotic and simple possessin of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia after a search warrrant was executed at the address. K. S. Loonney, Cpl. L. E. Mulz investigated.

Apr. 14 – Amanda Gipson, 35, 233 Belton Dr., Williamston reported forced entry to an outside storage building. It was undetermined at the time if anything was taken. K. S. Looney, Cpl. L. E. Mulz investigated.

Apr. 14 – Joshua Michael Fergason, 313 Willingham Rd., Williamston was arrested for possession of marijuana after a car was observed crossing the yellow lines on Palmetto Road. A joint of a green leafy substance field tested as marijuana was found in the vehicle. He was given a warning for not maintaining lane of travel. M. Crowe investigated.

Apr. 15 – Sandy Gainey, 35, 16 W 2nd St,. Williamston reported a burglary in which a 32 inch Sharp television, valued at $20, was missing. The incident remains under investigation. M. E. Simmons investigated.

Apr. 16 – Ralph L. Powell, 109 Long Thompson Dr., Williamston reported a Lonnie William Ervin, 33, of the same address attempted to enter the residence resulting in a struggle in which Ervin allegedly struck Powell with a plastic pipe. An arrest warrant was issued based on statement from the victim. J. Taylor investigated.

Apr. 17 – Wendy Michele Rogers, 51, 1 Pinecrest Dr., Williamston reported a bruglary in which items valued at $1201 were taken from a building. Missing items included Craftsman 299 piece socket set $500; Craftsman 4 piece spark plug set $20; Craftsman 113 piece set $180; Craftsman 21 piece drive tool arc set $73; Craftsman 140 piece mechanic tool set $159, Polan 18” chainsaw $169; and Craftsman Bushwacker Duel Hedge Trimmer $100. Apr. 17 – Billy Michael Singleton, 62, 810 Tripp St., Williamston and Hope Maria Crowe were cited for violation of town code regarding a camper being lived in while parked on residential property within town limits. M. E. Simmons investigated.

Apr. 17 – Trinity Earl Pearson, 37, 425 Depot Rd., Pelzer was charged with sale of liquor to a minor after an Anderson County Deputy and an undercover operative entered the ABC store at 510 Greenville Dr. in Williamston and purchased a bottle of Skinny girl Vodka. G. Cremer investigated.

Apr. 18 – Tina Melinda Propes, 47, 4 Durham Dr., Williamston was arrested for outstanding warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia with Williamston after officers assisted with an incident at 301 Anderson Street in Pelzer. J. T. Hunt investigated.

Apr. 18 – David Leroy Bergen, 33, 1128 Cheddar Dr., Belton was arrested for outstanding warrant with Greenville County for child support after a Ford Explorer was observed on Greenville Dr. with a passenger (Bergen) not wearing a seatbelt. K. S. Looney investigated.

Apr. 19 – Amy Marie Smith, 22, 22 Payne St,. Williamston was arrested for assault and battery 3rd after officers were dispatched to 22 Payne St., in reference to a suspicious person. During the investigation it was determined an assault had taken place. M. Crowe investigated.

Apr. 20 – Ray Scruggs, 51, 129 W. Main St., Williamston reported the right side window of a Bob Cat Mini Track Hoe owned by Capital Construction of Spartanburg broken. The equipment was parked behind the Williamston Fire Department. Damage was estimated at $200. The damage may have been caused by a rock being thrown through the window. T. L. Apr. 20 – Wanda Chapman, 8 Greenville Dr., Williamston (Cashtime) reported a black male wearing white t-shirt and baggie blue jeans attempted to cash a fraudulent check in the amount of $500 at the business. The incident remains under investigation. M. E. Simmons investigated.

Apr. 20 – Jeffrey Dan Ellison, 50, 575 W. Washington St., Greenville was placed on trespass notice for 9 Pinecrest Dr., Williamston after officers responded to a domestic incident at the location. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.
