The deputy attempted to pursue the Explorer but it turned onto Clemson Boulevard and became lost in traffic. The driver of the Nissan, later identified as Dyron Thomas, drove to the Anderson County Detention Center and advised officers of the incident. As a result of the shooting, he sustained only minor injuries to his left shoulder from broken glass fragments which entered the vehicle. EMS responded and treated Thomas for his injuries.

Thomas was able to identify the shooter and warrants for attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime were obtained for Gamble’s arrest.

The incident is believed to be the result of an on-going dispute between the two subjects.

Gamble was located in Greenville County and taken into custody late this afternoon by members of the US Marshals Task Force.

Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper commented on the quick resolution to this case: “Everyone involved did an excellent job. My special thanks to the Marshals Task Force for their assistance. This is a prime example of agencies working together across jurisdictional lines to apprehend violent criminals and protect the public from further harm.”
