The Pig in the Park Barbecue Festival and Cook-Off will be held in Williamston’s Mineral Spring Park this weekend, May 15 and 16. The event is sponsored by the Williamston Masonic Lodge and is celebrating its fifth year. According to organizers, cooking teams from all over South Carolina and two from North Carolina are registered for the cookoff.
The activities begin on Friday with barbecue and food, craft vendors and a children’s play area from 12 noon until 9 p.m. There will be live music from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the Original Out of Towners.
On Saturday activities will run from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. with barbecue and food sales, craft vendors, live music and a children’s play area. Music with the Original Out of Towners will go from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Judging of barbecue will begin at 10 a.m. Presentation of Barbecue championship awards will be at 2:30 p.m..
Beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, the Williamston Masonic Lodge will be selling wrist bands for all-you-can-eat samples of competitors barbecue for $10.

Pig in the Park Barbecue Festival and Cook-Off is a charity event with net proceeds going to Christian Learning Center, Operation Care and Williamston Masonic Lodge No 24.
Visitors are invited to “Bring a lawn chair and enjoy a fun-filled day of entertainment, food and good family fun,” a spokesperson said.
