A chase which began in West Pelzer ended off Cherokee Road near Williamston after the car was ditched down a dirt road near the Big Creek Reservoir Saturday night. One person was tracked by the Anderson County Sheriffs Department K9 unit. The subject eventually jumped into the Big Creek reservoir and swam from one side to the other. The sheriffs department helicopter was then called. It circled a radius over the lake and deputies had a perimeter set up along HardwoodsRoad, Cherokee Road, and two subdivisions in Williamston. Deputies and the K9 unit went to the other side of the lake where they got back on the trail with the dogs after finding water where he apparently exited the lake. After about two hours the tracking came to an end with no suspect.
