The West Pelzer Police Department arrested Charles Wright, WM, for having a meth lab on his moped scooter last week.

Chief Mike Clardy said that Lt. Chris Brewer saw Wright run a stop sign and pulled him over. Wright, who is well known to the WPPD, had an active meth lab on the scooter, with a batch of methamphetamine actively cooking. Chief Clardy said that the precursors, or ingredients for four more inactive 2 liter labs were in a backpack in Wright’s possession.

Wright tried to flee on foot and a tazer proved ineffective, but he was successfully apprehended. The active 2 liter meth lab was smoking and emitting fumes, so the Anderson County HazMat team was dispatched to the scene. Pelzer EMS also responded to determine whether Wright had been injured or affected by the lab.

He was found to be wanted on a warrant out of Greenville County and was eventually served with seven citations and two warrants. He was transported to ACDC.Moped
