Don’t forget to vote

Pelzer and Williamston voters are being asked to go to the polls on Tuesday (June 9) to decide two very important issues that could affect the future of both towns for years to come.

Registered voters in the Pelzer Voting Precinct have the opportunity to make history by expanding the town boundaries to include both the upper and lower mill villages by approving an annexation referendum.

Williamston voters will decide by referendum if they want their town managed under the current strong mayor form of government or if they prefer to have council more involved and responsible under the strong council form of government.

The Journal encourages everyone who will be affected by either of these two referendums, whether for or against, to take the responsibility of voting seriously and go to the polls on Tuesday to have their voices heard.
