ROBERT LAND

WEST PELZER – Robert Lee Land, 71, died Sunday, June 8, 2015.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Alfred Matthew and Elsie Suddeth Land. He was a SC National Guard veteran and the owner of Land’s Barber Shop, Pelzer. He was also a member of the Pelzer Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include daughter, Kristy Land Beacham (Mark) of Pelzer; son, Blue Land (Teresa) of Williamston; brother, Bobby Max Land (Patsy) of Williamston; grandchildren, Jeremy, Kendal and Skyler Beacham, Dendell Scott, Amber Nichole and Matthew Kyle Boiter; great-grandchildren, Madi and Kai Beacham, Ashton Ryleigh and Adyleigh Rose Warhola.

He was predeceased by sisters, Emily Marie Meares and Elizabeth Land; brother, James Randolph Land.

NANCY POLLARD

Nancy Mullinax Pollard, 52, of Anderson, wife of Joseph Randall Pollard, died Sunday, June 7, 2015.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Margaret Watona “Toni” McCoy Mullinax. She was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church, Anderson.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Paul McConville of Anderson and Joseph Pollard of the home; brother, Tom Mullinax of Piedmont; and three grandchildren.

No service is planned.

ELIZABETH HALL McCOY

Elizabeth Hall McCoy, of Piedmont, wife of James F. McCoy Sr., died Sunday, June 7, 2015.

Born in Macon, GA, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Hall and Reba Bridges Hall.

She retired from Phillips Fibers. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Piedmont.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Kimberly “Kim” McCoy Britt of Taylors, and James F. “Jim” McCoy Jr. of Midlothian, VA; four sisters, Becky Suddeth, Helen Batson, and Dorothy Shue, all of Macon, GA, and Gwen Bridgeman of Merritt Island, FL; one brother, Roy Hall of Macon, GA; and six grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Wednesday, June 10 at First Baptist Church, Piedmont. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS WILSON JR.

Christopher Columbus “June” Wilson Jr., 58, of Greenville, died Saturday, June 6, 2015 at McCall Hospice House.

Born in Greenville, he was  the son of Margaret Wilson of Greenville and the late Christopher Wilson Sr.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Patricia Wilson of the home; sons, Christopher Wilson, Cedric Wilson, both of Piedmont; sisters, Brenda Lee of Orland Park, IL, Loretta Harrison of Easley; brother, Minister Arthur Wilson of Charlotte, NC; raised in the home, Vernita Brown, Tonicha and Montaro Byrd, Theresa McCullough, all of Greenville; and four grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 11 at 12 noon at Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

LOIS HONICUTT

Annie Lois Coker Honicutt, 79, of Donalds, widow of Charles Honicutt, died Monday, June 8, 2015 at her home.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Talmadge and Opal Heatherly Coker.

She was a member of Dry Oak Assembly of God and retired from Monsanto.

Surviving are son, Tony Doyle Honicutt of Donalds; daughter, Loretta Merritt of the home; four brothers, Wilbert Coker of Honea Path, Harold Coker of Pelzer, Larry Coker of Ware Place, Cary Coker of Cottageville; sister, Margaret Starnes of the Cheddar Community; two grandsons; granddaughter raised in the home, Stacy Leigh Johnson of Tylertown, MS; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Dry Oak Assembly of God. Burial followed in Eastview Cemetery.

MARY ANN BLACKSTON

WEST PELZER – Mary Ann Blackston, 76, passed away Thursday, June 04, 2015.

Born in Piedmont, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Eva Lee Sheriff Blackston.  She was retired from the Anderson County Special Needs Board and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church where she served as church treasurer for thirty-five years.

Surviving are three nieces, one nephew; numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers, James, Harold, Barron Blackston.

A private service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2015.

DEBRA GANTT

Debra A. Gantt, of Pelzer, died May 28, 2015.

She is survived by three sons, Joshua Gantt, Jeremy Gantt, and John Daniel Bryson, all of Pelzer; six grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Henderson, Jr. of Pelzer, Thomas J. Henderson of Belton, and John A. Henderson of Williamston.

A memorial service was held at Bessie Road Baptist Church in Piedmont on Sunday, June 7.

LYNDA JOYCE VAUGHN

Linda Joyce Vaughn, 49, of Belton passed away on June 3rd 2015. She was a retired nurse from Anmed Hospital. Surviving are husband, Eddie Durham; daughter, Beth Vaughn; stepson, Marshall Durham and stepdaughter, Hilary Durham. Preceded in death by father, G Max Vaughn, mother, Jeanette Irby Vaughn, brother, Jerry Vaughn, and brother, Randy Vaughn.

Memorial service was held in the Williamston Mineral Spring Park amphitheater on Monday, June 8th at 6pm.

JARROD S. PARKER

Jarrod Steven Parker, 30, of Piedmont, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at his home.

Born in Oconee County, he was a son of James A. Parker and the late Hannah Marie Foster. He was an Emergency Dispatcher with the SC Highway Patrol.

Surviving in addition to his father is his step-mother, Elke Kennedy; brother, James Christopher Parker; step-sister, Dawn Kennedy; step-brother, John Kennedy, Jr; grandparents, Bill and Carolyn Foster of Piedmont; Joe Parker and wife Carolyn Wilson.

Funeral service was held Tuesday at The Anderson Civic Center. Burial followed at Shiloh U.M.C. Cemetery.

DIANE SWEETEN MULLIGAN

Diane Sweeten Mulligan, 67, of Piedmont, wife of Billy Mulligan, died Thursday, June 4, 2015.

Born in Newport, TN, she was a daughter of Myrtle Large Sweeten and the late Charles Sweeten.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Williamston and was retired from the St. Francis Hospital System.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Kristie Grimes of Powdersville; two grandchildren; and two brothers, David and Wayne Sweeten of Newport, TN.

Funeral service was held Sunday, June 7 in the Northwest Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
