Powdersville firefighters gather information after an accident on Old Piedmont Road Monday night. An SUV allegedly struck a vehicle on I-85 north before exiting the interstate pulling behind a gas station at I-85 and River Road. An alert driver followed the vehicle there. The suspect sat there a few minutes then drove away on Old Piedmont Road before wrecking again. He ran off the road, into a ditch, overturned and came back to rest on the wheels. The driver attempted to leave again but found himself blocked in. He got out and attempted to leave on foot when he was apprehended by a state trooper.
