Five arrested in Woodmont area shooting incident

Woodmont High locked down last Thursday

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office has charged and arrested five people who were involved in an incident last Wednesday (Sept. 2), at 305 Daytona Lane in Piedmont, which prompted a modified lockdown of Woodmont High School on Thursday.

According to reports, on Sept. 2nd a verbal altercation began between current students and former students of Woodmont High School, which eventually escalated to a physical altercation later in the day at 305 Daytona Lane.

During the altercation one person was struck in the head with brass knuckles which caused the victim to lose consciousness and had to be transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Also during the altercation two suspects fired guns in the direction of several people and one person sustained two gun shot wounds to the left arm resulting in serious bodily injury causing the victim to receive medical treatment.

After the incident, statements were made by individuals involved regarding not cooperating with law enforcement and handling the problem themselves. These statements were forwarded to the school resource officer at Woodmont High School and immediate action was taken to ensure the safety of the students and faculty at the school. Sheriff Loftis placed additional personnel in and around the school to prevent anyone from coming to the school to cause further problems.

One person taken into custody is a juvenile and has been forwarded to Family Court, no information will be provided for the juvenile. Names and charges:

Riconterrious Keiandre Floyd: Attempted Murder x5, Possession of a weapon during a violent crime, Assault & Battery by mob 2nd degree x2.

Kenneth Franklin Rogers Jr.: Attempted Murder x 5, Possession of a weapon during a violent crime, Assault & Battery by mob 2nd degree.

Talandra Elizabeth Rice-Chiles: Accessory before the fact to a felony x2.

Whyoshi Tatiyona Palmer: Assault & Battery by mob 2nd degree x2.
