Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a fatal shooting at a bar in Piedmont early this morning. The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. at JA Cigars on Hwy. 86 in Piedmont.
Anderson County Deputy Coroner Charlie Boseman said Jonathan Black, 29, of Coker Circle in Wiliamston was shot and killed. Black died at the scene from gunshots wounds to the upper part of his body. Boseman said Black had been released from prison just weeks prior to his death.
According to reports, an argument with the bars owner inside escalated into a fist fight and shooting outside.
The incident remains under investigation.
