DEACON CARLTON ‘DUCK’ JONES, ORENA DAVIS, DOUGLAS EDWARD CLEVELAND, DOUGLAS EDWARD CLEVELAND

DEACON CARLTON ‘DUCK’ JONES

Deacon Carlton “Duck” Jones, 77, of Piedmont, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at McCall Hospice House.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Mahoney Jones of the home; daughter, Monique Renea Jones of Piedmont; son, Carlton Boyd Jones of Piedmont; sister, Dorothy Greer of Mauldin; brother, Willie Lee Jones, Jr. of Mauldin; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Saturday, November 21 at Rock of Ages Baptist Church. Burial  followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

ORENA DAVIS

Orena Pearson Davis, of Pelzer, wife of the late Frank Davis, died Thursday, November 19, 2015.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late James “Tully” C. and Mildred Easter Satterfield Pearson. She retired from Kendall Company and was a member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughter, Faye McCullough of Pelzer; son, Eric Davis of Belton; brother, Randolph Pearson of Honea Path; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 21 at Sandy Springs Baptist Church. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

DOUGLAS EDWARD CLEVELAND

Douglas E. Cleveland, 68, of Simpsonville, husband of Janice Cleveland, died Sunday, November 22, 2015 at his home.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Barnett Franklin Cleveland Jr. and the late Alyce Calder Cleveland. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Wendi Cleveland and Kristen Cleveland, both of Simpsonville; one grandson; brothers, Bob Cleveland of Greenville, David Cleveland of Owings, and Scott Cleveland of Piedmont; sisters, Jean Cleveland and Julia Cleveland, both of Greenville.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 28 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Cannon Memorial Park.

JAMES TUCKER

PIEDMONT—James William Tucker, 88, husband of Betty Allen Earnhardt Tucker, died Saturday, November 21, 2015.

He was a son of the late Calvin Bert and Ossie Ree Tuggle Tucker. The former owner and operator of Tucker Storm Windows, he was a member of Piedmont First Baptist Church, the Hejaz Shriners, and the Pelzer Masonic Lodge # 217.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers.

Visitation was held Tuesday, November 24, from 11:00 – 12:00 at Gray Mortuary. The funeral followed at noon in the mortuary chapel. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery.
