Crime map shows West Pelzer among safest

Residents of West Pelzer can sleep easy at night. According to a study and interactive crime map released by, West Pelzer was recently named one of the safest cities in the nation. According to the FBI’s annual report Crime in the United States, there were more than 8.27 million property crimes in 2014 costing victims approximately $14.3 billion.

Even though the estimated number of property crimes decreased 4.3% in 2014 compared to 2013, those numbers are pretty alarming.
