The second annual Anderson School District One Student Art Show opening reception was held Thursday at the Artory in Williamston. The reception featured student artwork from throughout the district with ten entry artworks submitted by each of the art teachers in District One. The Artory will be open 10 am until 6 pm this Saturday, April 9 for public viewing of the Student Art Show for anyone who missed the opening.The Artory is at 123 Gossett St. in Williamston.
The following winners were announced:
Elementary Division: Best-In-Show- 2nd Grade group project- Cedar Grove 1st Place/ Kasyn Reeves- 1st Grade Wren, Star Belamy 4th Grade Hunt Meadows;
2nd Place- Mikki McCoy 3rd Grade West Pelzer, Braelyn Rice 5th Grade Cedar Grove, Hope Binniker 4th Grade Powdersville;
3rd Place- Ansleigh Young 4th Grade Spearman, Abi Morrison 2nd Grade Concrete, Breanna Roberts Palmetto.
Middle School Division:
Best-In-Show- Maggie Ahern 8th Grade Powdersville
1st Place- Cammy Davenport 8th Grade Wren
2nd Place- Juliana Hawkins 8th Grade Powdersville
3rd Place- Emma Garrett 7th Grade Palmetto
High School Division:
Best-In-Show- Jacob Sierra 12th Grade Powdersville
1st Place- Rebe Jennings 11th Grade Palmetto
2nd Place- Alycia Tirado 12th Grade Palmetto
3rd Place- Miles Chapman 12th Grade Palmetto
