On new Powdersville location

Miracle Hill Ministries will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on its latest thrift store location on Tuesday, April 5, at 10:00am at the intersection of 3 Bridges Road and Highway 153 in Powdersville. The ceremony will be a time of celebration for the organization as it expands through opening a ninth thrift store in Fall 2016 to help support the operations of Miracle Hill’s nine facilities and other programs for adults and children.

The short program will include a groundbreaking blessing and words of appreciation from Miracle Hill’s CEO Bryce Norton, and project and community partners.

The new Powdersville location will affect Miracle Hill’s operations in several ways, with net proceeds from the store helping provide shelter, food and hope to thousands of homeless children and adults.

Founded in 1937, Miracle Hill is a non-profit organization in the Upstate of South Carolina dedicated to providing extensive services to individuals and families in the form of food, shelter, clothing, personal development, addiction recovery support, and residential and foster care for children. Last fiscal year, Miracle Hill helped nearly 3,000 people, served over 400,000 meals to its guests and the community, and provided nearly 220,000 regular bed nights.

In order to meet its mission, Miracle Hill operates thrift stores and an auto sales operation where donations and purchases equal shelter, food and miracles for the homeless. The new store in Powdersville – scheduled to open in Fall 2016 – will represent its ninth store. The site is being developed by NAI Earle Furman and once completed the store will measure 22,946 gross square feet. This will be the first thrift store built for Miracle Hill (other stores were developed using existing buildings).
