YVONNE ESKEW

Yvonne Lackey Eskew, 76, of Piedmont, wife of Thomas Aaron Eskew, died on Friday, April 29, 2016.

Born in Muleshoe, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Orville Mack and Florence Ruth Holbert Lackey.

In addition to her husband of the home, she is survived by daughter, Suzanne Eskew of Piedmont; brothers, Dean Lackey and Randy Lackey, both of Midlothian, TX.

Funeral service was held Wednesday in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the Greenville Humane Society, 305 Airport Rd., Greenville, SC 29607.

FRANK L. JONES, JR.

Frank L. Jones, Jr., 75, of Greenville, died Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his home.

He was an electrical engineer.

He is survived by children, Frank L. Jones, III of Chester, VA, and LuAnn J. Handel of Williamston; brothers, James Benton Jones of Irmo, and Allen Drew Jones of Simpsonville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Saturday, April 30 at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte.

TOMMY COOLEY

Tommy Joe Cooley, 71, of Belton, husband of Becky Poore Cooley, died Thursday, April 28, 2016 at his home.

Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late William and Minnie Lee Cooley.

He worked at Michelin, was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and attended Trinity Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are son, Terry Lee Cooley of Anderson; daughter, Lisa Timms of Williamston; brothers, Charlie and Carroll Cooley; sisters, Ann Thompson and Jean Howard; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Cox Funeral Home. Burial followed at Shady Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

JESSE WALLACE, JR.

Jesse Lewis Wallace, Jr., 82, of Piedmont, husband of Doris Stewart Wallace, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016.

Born in Piedmont, he was a son of the late Jesse Lewis Wallace, Sr. and Margie Moore Wallace. He retired from J.P. Stevens Dunean Plant and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by daughters, Diane Gravley of Fountain Inn and Elaine Wilson of Piedmont; son, Bobby Gravley of Piedmont; sister, Bernice Ledford, Charlotte, NC; brothers, Wilburn Wallace  of Fork Shoals, Bradley Wallace  of Piedmont and Billy Wallace of Cummings, GA; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Friday, April 29, at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

ROBERT VINCENT DOLL SR.

Robert Vincent Doll Sr., 78, of Greenville, died April 29th, 2016 at McCall Hospice House.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Lebanon, PA and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He was predeceased by his parents, Helen Irby-Doll and Willmard Doll.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah; daughters, Lilly Doll of the home, Susie Doll of Easley, Sherri Ramey of Grand Blanc, MI, Dana Doll of Greer; sons, Vincent Doll of Liberty, Steve Doll of Liberty, Robert Doll Jr. of Pelzer, and Bryan Doll of Kershaw; two sisters, Shirley Mullins of Dora, AL, and Patricia Boltz of Myerstown, PA; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 2 at South Carolina-Westville Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at a later date in Green Lawn Cemetery in Easley.

JOE EATON

PELZER – Joe Marvin Eaton, 80, husband of Elizabeth Burgess Eaton, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at his home.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late John Robert and Montine Gee Eaton.  He was retired from Daniel Construction Co. and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by son, Ronnie Eaton of Pelzer; daughter, Joann Wilson of Pelzer; sister, Helen Lollis of Simpsonville; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by three sisters and five brothers.

Visitation was from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

JOAN CANDLER

Joan Westmoreland Candler, 88, of Piedmont, widow of Jack Charles Candler, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016.

Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of the late James Hiram and Alice Elizabeth Herbert Westmoreland.  She was a retired educator with Greenville County Schools. She was a member of Washington Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons, Stephen C. Candler of Piedmont and Rev. J. Stanley Candler of Ware Place; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one on the way.

Visitation will be from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, at Washington Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted.  Memorials may be made to Washington Baptist Church Building Fund, 208 Washington Church Rd., Pelzer, SC 29669.

The family is at the home of Steve and Romona Candler, 200 Morton Drive, Piedmont.

JESSALENE WATSON

PIEDMONT – Jessalene Jones Watson, 67, wife of William Terry Watson, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Mack “S.M.” and Faye Kelley Jones. She was a member of Piedmont First Baptist Church. A very active member of Bonnes Amies Club and treasurer of Rose Hill Cemetery Association.

In addition to her husband of the home, she is survived by daughter, JoEllen Wilkinson (Jon) of Anderson; sons, Tom Watson (Ann) of Easley and Ben Watson of Piedmont; sister, Becky Williams (Lee) of Williamston; grandchildren, Wyatt Watson, Hannah Paden, Kristen Cobb, Jonathan, Caleb, Chase and Ben Wilkinson.

She was predeceased by brothers, Shuler Mack and Billy Jones

A graveside service was held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 4, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

EVONNE REESE

WEST PELZER – Evonne Mariah McCall Reese, 86, wife of James Blyth Reese, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016.

Born in Rosman, NC, she was a daughter of the late Mack Tillman and Ola Anders McCall.  She was retired from Proctor & Gamble and a member of the Pelzer Church of God.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Kathy Mitchell of Florida; sisters, Hazel Cabe of Franklin, NC, Mildred Owen, Ernestine McCall, Roenia Ash, all of Brevard, NC; grandchildren, Wessley Williamson and Amy Mitchell; two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by son, Kevin L. Reese; brothers, Lawrence and Ellery McCall; sister, Pauline Robinson.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
