A political forum will be held this Thursday, May 26 at 6 p.m. at the White Plains Community Building for candidates running for the office of 10th Circuit Solicitor for Anderson and Oconee Counties. Anyone interested in hearing what the candidates have to say is invited to attend. Current 10th Circuit Solicitor Chrissy Adams’ decision earlier this year to vacate the office resulted in a field of three Republican candidates including W. Wilson Burr, Rame Campbell, and David Wagner. No Democrats filed for the office.

Adams, who has fought a personal battle with cancer for several years, announced in February that she would retire at the end of her term and would not running for re-election to the position.

Adams and in an announcement stated “While it certainly had been my intent to seek another term, after a great deal of prayer and reflection, as well as discussions with my medical teram and family, I ahve come to this difficult but approopriate decision.”

Adams said she made the announcement earlier this year to allow others who may wish to run for the solicitor position to have opportunity to do so. Adams thanked everyone for their support over the last 12 years and for continued prayers.
