Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents leading up to and over the Memorial Day weekend:

May 23 – Ellison Service Center, 1200 Anderson Drive, Williamston reported someone entered a locked enclosed area by climbing over a fence and removing something from a vehicle. A warrant was to be issued. C. Green investigated.

May 22 – Kathy B. McCarter, 67, 801 Tripp St., Williamston reported an attempted break-in in which a garage door showed signs of someone trying to pry it open and possible access to a crawl space. Class 3 B. Peterson investigated.

May 23 – Joseph Michael Barberi, 35, 110 Nunnally Rd., Anderson was arrested for an outstanding bench warrant while at the Anderson County Detention Center (ACDC). R. Drennon investigated.

May 25 – Anna Cadden, 56, 1002 Anderson Dr., Williamston reported egg shells on top of the house. M. Crowe investigated.

May 25 – Officers investigated a fight in progress incident on East First Street involving two individuals and possibly a knife. Two individuals were located and both admitted to fighting but neither wanted to press charges and complaint withdrawal forms were issued. One of the individuals, identified as Mr. Deese, of 7 E 1st Street, was arrested for an outstanding warrant with Anderson County. K Anthony, M. Crowe investigated.

May 26 – Sherry Lynn Rose, 55, 113 Fawn Trail Ln., Pelzer was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, simple possession of marijuana and driving under the influence after officers were dispatched to McDonalds in reference to an intoxicated driver. Officers then observed a gray Buick driven by her go over the curb of the parking lot between McDonalds and Pelzer Avenue.

After failing field sobriety tests and officers finding half of a pill, identified as Tramadol, and a burnt roach with green leafy substance inside her purse, Rose was arrested and transported to ACDC. Z. T. Parks investigated.

May 27 – Joseph Nathan Altman, 48, 17 Jones Avenue, Greenville was issued a summons for failure to surrender license plate, manner of driving and driving under suspension after officers were dispatched to a collision without injury at N. Hamiton St. and Greenville Drive. According to reports Altman stated he was having mechanical issues with the brakes of his vehicle when he struck another vehicle stopping at the light. Reports state Altman said he had paperwork showing he was not suspended, however when he brought the paperwork it was for January 2016 and the cancellation of insurance and tag were March 2016. M. May 27 – Amy Whitfield, 24 Durham Drive Williamston reported she was traveling on S. Hamilton St. when an object hit the driver’s side of her new vehicle. According to reports, Marvin Wayne Turner, a resident of 118 W. 3rd St. was weedeating the ditch which caused the incident. Turner said he would take care of any damages to the vehicle. Damage was estimated at $300. M. Beeman, C. Green investigated.

May 29 – Russell Elton Mundy, 23, 232 Mauldin St., Williamston was arrested for disorderly conduct and open container after he was observed passed out in a vehicle stopped at the traffic light at Academy St. and West Main. M. Crowe investigated.

May 28 – Brandon Edward Hunter, 26, 101 Crawford St., Williamston was arrested for simple assault after officers were dispatched to the residence in reference to a domestic complaint. According to reports, Hunter stated he was upset for personal reasons and took it out on his mother. Reports state he pushed her down and struck her with a closed fist. He was arrested and transported to ACDC without incident. R. Drennon investigated.

May 30 – Shirley Simpson, 105 Simpson St,. Williamston reported two light fixtures damaged in the Heritage Subdivision. The lights at the entrance of the subdivision were damaged by large rocks. Damage was estimated at $400. T. L. Eichelberger investigated.

May 30 – Ramn Francisco Cruz, 29, 304 N. Hamilton St, Williamston reported vandalism to a house that is being renovated. Insulation was all over the floor in every room and a window was broken. Damage was estimated at $260. K. Anthony investigated.
