Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the following:

EASLEY

July 29 – R.A. Sparkman was dispatched to 817 Hamlin Rd. where Ann Smith reported that two guests in her home had left during the night while she slept. The next morning, she was missing a computer, jewelry and a purse. The loss was estimated at $1250.

July 29 – Cpl. J.M. Culberson and A.F. Acevedo responded to the Dollar General store at 3309 Pelzer Highway, where an employee reported being robbed at gunpoint by a male age, description and race withheld by ACSO. A delivery truck driver who was present at the time confirmed the account. A K-9 unit was brought in but had no success.

PELZER

July 31 – L.M. Watts received a telephone complaint from Johnny Chappell, of 107 Kingston Rd. that someone had stolen his license plate, SC tag # DFH 764.

August 1 – R.A. Sparkman received a telephone complaint from Joyce Vaughan of 203 Looper Rd., that someone had stolen mail from her mailbox. The mail contained several personal checks written in payment of various bills.

PIEDMONT

July 31 – J.K. Vickery responded to 3104 Hwy. 153 in reference to an assault call. Upon arriving, he found Deputy S. Barnes on the scene, with a white male identified as Brandon Tyler, WM, 22, 6′, 180 pounds, from Greer, and a white female, name and description withheld by ACSO. Both parties denied that an assault had occurred, but the female did mention that she and Tyler have a history of drug use.

A search of Tyler’s back pack revealed various identity documents and credit cards that were not his. The female also mentioned that Tyler had some marijuana on him, but may have tossed it in a nearby trash can. Sure enough, 1.4 grams of pot was found. Tyler disowned it and tried to walk away, resulting in a brief struggle. He was arrested and charged with simple possession of marijuana.

August 1 – R.A. Sparkman received a telephone complaint from the manager of the Chick – Fil -A at 3420 Hwy. 153. The manager reported that an employee, BF, 35, description and name withheld by ACSO, had hacked the store’s website and had altered her time cards in order to receive $3400 in wages that she had not earned.

August 1 – D.A. Hammond received a telephone complaint from Keith Stringer, 1816 Firetower Road, that someone had entered his work truck and stolen a company Samsung tablet valued at $700.

August 1 – D. McQueen responded to the Pilot Convenience Store at 110 Frontage Road, where the manager reported that a store employee, Michelle Cash, WF, 44, 5’7″, 190 pounds, of Williamston, had taken items from the store without paying for them. Since Cash was working at the time, McQueen questioned her, and upon her admission of the crime, took her into custody for breach of trust.

WILLIAMSTON

July 31 – J.D. Petit responded to the BP Station at 1525 Anderson Hwy. in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival, he found Robert Hawkins, WM, 36, 6’1″, 235 pounds, bald/blue from Belton, sitting on a bench outside the store. Hawkins could not remember how long he had been there. A subsequent search located two meth pipes and a small amount of the drug. Hawkins was taken into custody and transported to ACDC.
