AlexanderResChris Alexander, 41, of Belton Drive, Williamston announced last week that he is running for the Williamston Town Council Ward 4 seat. Alexander is a 1993 graduate of Palmetto High School and a 1998 graduate of Tri -County Tech with a degree in business management. He presently works for Sealed Air Cryovac in Simpsonville as a graphic artist. He also serves on the Williamston Planning Commission.

Alexander said he had given a lot of thought over the last year to running for the Ward 4 seat. “I wanted to contribute to the town in some way and this could do it,” he said. “To not be a bystander.”

“I wanted to make a contribution to the town. It is a great place to live. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else,” he said. “I think the town has a lot of potential. The town is on the verge of something great. I just wanted to be a part of it,” he said.

Alexander said one of his goals is helping make the town more pedestrian friendly and getting people out and about. He said trail and sidewalk projects would help with this.

“I have no agenda going into this,” he said. “It is wide open. I want the town to grow and prosper and if I can help in any way, that is great.”
