Boo in the Park, WestFest Pumpkinpalooza this Saturday

Two big fall and Halloween related local events will take place this weekend. Boo in the Park will be held beginning at 5:30 pm Saturday, in Williamston’s Mineral Spring Park. The Town of West Pelzer will hold their annual Fall Festival – The Great WestFest Pumpkinpalooza, also on Saturday, from 6-8 pm on Main Street in West Pelzer. Many other Trunk or Treat and special events are also going on at local churches and other places. (Chedk this weeks print edition of The Journal for more information on events.)

Boo in the Park is sponsored the the Town of Williamston, local businesses and the Palmetto Business Association, local churches and organizations. Main Street between Minor Street and Pelzer Avenue will be closed from 5-9 pm.

There will be entertainment on the stage, games, and a “Spooked Hut”. Pelzer Church of God will provide free hot dogs and drinks for the children, plus sponsor a Puppet Show on the Gospel stage. The Cowboy Church will have their popular fishing tank.

Stage Entertainment will include Jack’s Drum Shack at 5:30 and a Halloween Costume Contest at 6:30.

The Town of West Pelzer will hold their annual Fall Festival – The Great WestFest Pumpkinpalooza will be held on Main Street n West Pelzer Saturday from 6-8 pm.

Main Street (Hwy. 8) will be closed for the event which will be held from Bollinger Street (West Pelzer Baptist Church) to Hindman/Spring Street 5:30 to 8:30 pm.

The event is free and open to everyone due to the Hospitality Tax collected by the Town of West Pelzer and the generosity of Anderson County Councilwoman Cindy Wilson.

There will be trunk-or-treating with several churches including West Pelzer Baptist Church, Living Water Church, Restoration Chapel, Life Journey Church, and Faith Presbyterian. Also free kids bounce houses and inflatable moonwalks, and DJ music and dancing by DJ-EZ.

A costume contest for all children (age groups 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12), teenagers (13-18) adults (18+), and pets. Costume contest judging will begin at 7 pm.

Attendees are encouraged to park at Living Water Church and West Pelzer Baptist Church. ADA accessible parking will be provided at West Pelzer Town Hall on Hindman Street. ADA accessible restrooms will be open for the duration of the event in West Pelzer Town Hall.
