JAMES C. ‘PETE’ HARRIS

James C. “Pete” Harris, of Pelzer, widower of Cornelia Holmes Harris, died on Tuesday, October 25, 2016.

Born February 17, 1928 in Pelzer, he was the son of the late Joseph Clyde Harris and Ethel Greer Harris.

Survivors include two daughters, Pam Duncan, Cheryl Anders with two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma Wooten.

He retired from the Kendall Company and was an active member of Pelzer United Methodist Church.  He was also a WWII U.S. Army veteran.

A graveside service was held Thursday at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

JARRETT. B. LANFORD

Jarrett Bryan Lanford, 43, of Simpsonville, husband of Kellie Ann Elwell Lanford, died Saturday, October 22, 2016.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of Mary Marguerite Acuff Lanford and Johnnie Franklin Lanford.He was owner of his own law practice Jarret B. Lanford LLC and attended Guthrie Grove Church of God of Abrahamic Faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents, are a daughter, Lila Caroline Lanford of the home; brother, Jason Allen Lanford of Piedmont.

A memorial service was held Friday, October 28 at Guthrie Grove Church of God of Abrahamic Faith.

GLENN PATTERSON

Glenn Phillip Patterson, 41, of Piedmont, died October 17, 2016.

He was born in Greenville to the late Phillip Cecil Yearwood and Vickie Elaine Alverson.

He is survived by step-father, Eddie Alverson; Donnie and Angie of Piedmont; half-brothers, and half-sisters.

A service will be held at a later date.

MICHAEL BOWMAN

Michael T. Bowman, 62, of Pelzer, died this past week at his home.

Born in Greensboro, NC, he was an electrician.

He is survived by daughter, Melissa Lewellen of Charlotte; four grandchildren; and brothers, Rocky Bowman of Piedmont and Jim Bowman of Greensboro, NC; and sister, Holley Care of Camp Hill, PA.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Memorials may be made to the local 4-H Club.

HENRY GERALD PICKLESIMER

Henry “Gerald” Picklesimer, 76, of Greenville, husband of Rachel Waters Picklesimer, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016.

Born in Belton, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Williamston.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are daughter, Denise Phillips; stepsons, Jeff and Chris Ellis of Shelby, NC; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris Harper of Williamston.

Funeral service was held Saturday, October 29 in the Downtown Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

JOHN BAGWELL

John Jewell Bagwell, of Greenville, husband of Vera Smith Bagwell, died Sunday, October 30, 2016.

Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Clifton Murphy Anderson and Jessie Mae Hicks Bagwell.

He was a retired home builder and a charter member of Salem United Methodist.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are daughters, Becky Jones of Greenville and Lorie Bryant of Piedmont; son, Jeff Bagwell, Sr., of Greenville; sister, Norma Jean Jones of Greenville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Wednesday at Salem United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

JEFF CORBID

Jeffrey “Jeff” Scott Corbid, 62, of Williamston, husband of Margo Swan Corbid, died Sunday, October 30, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Grand Forks, ND, he was a son of the late James Joseph “Jimmy” and Lois Marie Jeffrey Corbid.  He was retired from ADI in Simpsonville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Joshua Corbid of MO, Eric Corbid of CA, Asa Waterstraut of FL; daughters, Heidi Turk of CA, Jillian Rupnow of MI, Carly Waterstraut of CA, Saebra Waterstraut of NY; brothers, Lynn and John Corbid of CA; sisters, Robin Smith of CA and Lori Walker of IL; and three grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held.

GINA DOOLEY

Gina Kay Cooper Dooley, 44, of williamston, died Thursday, October 27, 2016.

Born in West Palm Beach, FL, she was a Kindergarten Assistant at Calhoun Academy of the Arts.

Surviving are her husband, Kevin Dooley; son, Brandon Doyle; and mother, Kay O’Keeffe.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

TOMMY HENSON, JR.

Thomas “Tommy” E. Henson, Jr., 53, of Greer, died October 28, 2016.

Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Thomas E. Henson, Sr. and Eva Anne Coleman Henson. She was employed with Dave Edwards Toyota of Spartanburg.

Surviving are three sisters, Peggy H. Chambers of Pelzer, Linda H. Ray of Simpsonville and Patti Henson Harris of Greer.

SARA FOSTER BATSON

Sara Foster Batson, 98, of Williamston, died October 28, 2016.

She was the daughter of the late Donald Foster and Mamie Willingham Foster.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lyman and retired from Fiber Industries in Greenville.

She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen H. Batson.

She is survived by her son, Stephen H. Batson, Jr.; daughter, Sherri Smith; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Remembrance Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park with visitation one hour prior to service.
