Bill Jeanes and Roger Scott watch as truckloads of fill dirt are brought to and dumped in the Pelzer Pool. They purchased the pool property from the Town of Pelzer approxiamtely two years ago. Due to DHEC regulations the pool had to be put back in service as a public pool or closed. Scott said they were unable to find a way to keep the pool open. Complaints to DHEC from a neighbor about standing water also contributed to the pool having to be filled in. Jeanes said he had hoped to be about to find some way to use the pool but was limited in how it could be used due to it being permitted as a “public pool” and related DHEC requirements.
