April 22nd has been declared “HANDS ON WILLIAMSTON DAY, Y’ALL!” or HOWDY Cleanup Day for short. Come out and join Town Council members and the Palmetto AFJROTC as Envision Williamston launches a town-wide cleanup and short-term beautification effort.
Four Teams are being formed for the following areas:
The Artory (Palmetto Cultural Arts Center)
Town Hall and Mineral Spring Park
Caroline Community Center
Mill Village Streets
The following Town Council members are in charge of each group:
Team A. Mayor Durham: 864-617-5097
Team B. Councilman Rockey Burgess: 864-933-7508
Team C. Councilman Tony Hagood: 864-933-1821
Team D. Councilman Chris Alexander: 864-556-4272
If you are interested in participating, contact the Mayor or Councilman to sign up for your favorite site! Teams will be provided with clean up bags, vests, gloves and other supplies. Participants will engage in light cleanup work and the planting of annuals in designed pots or zones.
Following this short-term beautification effort, a longer-range plan for the Park’s redevelopment will be considered by the town for the enjoyment of the public, visitors, and generations to come.
“So, come on out and show your Community Pride and Spirit!” said Envision Williamston Executive Director Sonya Crandall.
