PlantFest will be held this Saturday in Williamston’s Mineral Spring Park featuring a variety of vendors, classes, plants and live entertainment. The event kicks off the opening of the weekly farmers market.
Vendors will include Bella Vita Farm, BioWay Farm, Cedar Knoll Farm, Rock Farms, EarlyBird Farm, Mushroom Mountain, Chocolate Artworks, Padula’s Plants, Possum Kingdom Kreamery, Hoppy Quackers Farm, and Carolina Grassfed Beef.
There will be duck and chicken eggs, goat milk and herb-based personal care products (soap, lotions, salves), goat milk and cheese, honey, and meat.
Chocolate Artworks will have chocolate-covered bananas and other sweet treats.
Plants will include ginger, native plants, herbs, blueberry bushes, and vegetable transplants. BioWay is certified organic and will have both organic and sustainably-grown plants.
Tillman Stevens from Hoppy Quackers Farm will teach a class on kudzu, starting at 9 am (how to use the plant and how to eradicate it). At 10 am, Angela Easterling and the Beguilers will play in the gazebo.
Palmetto Market dollars (gift certificates) that can be spent at any booth will be given away throughout the festival
The Lazy Farmer food truck will provide breakfast and lunch. Bella Vita Farm also will be selling muffins, poundcake, and coffee.
