The South Carolina Department of Transportation announces that the US 17 Bypass Bridge over US 17 Business will be closed on June 12, to complete remaining rehabilitation work. The bridge is expected to permanently open to traffic on June 25, weather permitting.
SCDOT previously closed the US 17 Bypass Bridge over US 17 Business in March for the bridge deck rehabilitation project.
During the closure from June 12, 2017 through June 25, 2017, motorists are urged to use 82nd Parkway to detour the US 17 Bypass Bridge. If traveling on US 17 Bypass

northbound, turn right onto 82nd Parkway and left onto US 17 Business (North Kings Highway) and continue on US 17 northbound. If traveling northbound on US 17 Business and wishing to travel southbound on U.S. 17 Bypass, turn left onto 82nd Parkway and left onto US 17 Bypass southbound.
Motorists traveling along this section of US 17 are advised to use caution in the work zone and expect traffic congestion. Motorists are also encouraged to use alternate routes or the dedicated detour to avoid severe congestion on US 17.
