Williamston Police officers investigated the following:
June 12 – Cindy Cobb Bentley, 49, 19 Stone St., Williamston reported charges on a bank account at Regions Bank which are possibly fraudulent. F. E. Culbertson investigated.
June 15 – Keith McDermott, 54, East Carolina St., Williamston was arrested for vandalism, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after officers responded to a complaint at 312 Carolina St. L. Buell investigated.


June 17 – A traffic stop for reckless driving on Longview Street involving a burgundy Ford Expedition turned even worse when the driver failed to stop for blue lights and siren. According to reports the vehicle went down E Street disregarding a stop sign at Gray Drive and another at Academy and Gray Drive. The vehicle continued on disregarding a stop sign at E 3rd St. and Gossett, went on E. 3rd which is a dead end. That didn’t stop the vehicle as it jumped a ditch, struck another ditch and hit a residence. It continued through the fence, into the yard barely missing young children, struck a stone flower garden and through another fence blowing out tires. The chase was called off at that point. The SC Highway Patrol was called and Williamston officers and SCHwy. Patrol followed damaged tire marks all the way to the Greenville County line. Damage was estimated at $2500. June 18 – Danny Baxter Herndon, 43, 136 Dobbins Rd,. Belton was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container in a motor vehicle after officers observed a red pick up truck swerving on South Hamilton St. According to reports the vehicle swerved from white to yellow lines multiple times and had no SC tag displayed. The vehicle was stopped on E. Greenville Drive at School Street, where the tag was barely visible through a tinted window. Upon searching the vehicle officers found a glass stem with burned residue used for smoking illegal narcotics, a green bag with a bag of a green leaf like substance field tested positive as marijuana, a metal grinder with a marijuana leaf on it with green leaf like substance field tested positive for marijuana, a digital scale, a bag with multiple clear baggies, a set of brass knuckles and a cigarette case full of burned material with a distinct odor of marijuana. There were three Bud Ice open containers, a Bud Light aluminum bottle with beer in it and a brown paper sack with a Bud Light can with beer reside. Officers issued a UTT for no proof of insurance, open container of beer, possession of marijuana 28 grams or less and possession of drug paraphernalia. Tickets were also issued for possession of unsafe/improper vehicle equipment due to the vehicle having bald tires, no rear bumper or tag mount, no tag light and manner of driving. The marijuana weighed 8.1 grams. Herndon was transported to ACDC without incident. B. K. Creel.
June 18 – Tiffany Danielle Hatten, 24, 109 Pearson Terrace Dr #M, Easley walked into the police department and reported she was assaulted at 13 Brown St. by her baby daddy’s girlfriend. According to reports an incident did occur at 13 Brown St., but both parties declined to press charges. K. Anthony investigated.
