As high winds blew through the area Monday evening, firefighters, emergency responders and pubic works employees were kept busy with numerous calls for service. In Williamston, part of a tree fell through with limbs puncturing the roof. Williamston firefighters responded to the scene. The occupants of the home escaped uninjured. Firefighters also answered more than a dozen other weather related calls along with the Williamston Public Works department during the night. Though numerous trees were reported down, most missed structures and caused little damage. However small limbs and leaves littered yards and roadways.
