A three part Fall Jazz Series hosted by Envision Williamston and the Town of Williamston will begin this Saturday, Sept 16.
“Put Irma behind you, and come on out this Saturday and enjoy some easy, breezy music from Steve G and the Juniors!” said Envision Williamston Executive Director Sonya Crandall.
Steven G and the JRs bring a mix of social music (jazz), soul, R&B and funk. This trio is one of the hottest in the upstate area.

Steven G (latest Itunes Single “BREAK TIME”) is known for playing at the Inn on the Square for Saxy Wednesdays. Antonio Edwards Jr brings cutting edge piano and vocal skills and can sing whatever is requested. Carlton J is a multi-instrumentalist and world class percussionist and producer!
This band can SWING like the bebop musicians and will keep you rockin’ on the dance floor. They also provide a few beach tunes in the mix and are currently recording and working on original compositions.
“This is an awesome band,” Crandall said.
All three musicians have studied at the collegiate level and are influenced by John Coltrane, Outkast, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonius Monk, Marcus Miller, Joshua Redman, Oscar Peterson, Sonny Rollins, and many other greats in the music industry.
“Meet up at the Amphitheater in Mineral Spring Park for some great blues and jazz!” Crandall said. “This concert is a new addition to the Town’s offerings and an event not to be missed!”
“Bring a blanket, lawn chair and friends and enjoy these featured jazz artists in the intimate outdoor setting in the park,” Crandall said.
The event is free and there will be a drawing for prizes.
The 2017 Jazz Series in Historic Williamston will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month, in Mineral Spring Park.
