ILER LOLLIS

PELZER—Iler Eugene Lollis, 65, husband of Sandra Jenean Ferrell Lollis, passed away at his home, Tuesday, October 3, 2017.

Born in Piedmont, he was a son of the late Earl Monroe and Clara Wilson Lollis. He was a carpenter, loving husband, father, Pop Pop and friend to many!

In addition to his wife of 40 years, he is survived by daughters, Ginger Mongillo (Marco) of GA, Heather Buckley (David) of Easley; son, Iler Eugene “Gene” Lollis, II (Charity) of MO; brothers, Grady Lollis (Priscilla) Curt Lollis (Wanda Morgan); sisters, Mary Tucker, Earline Atkins (Ken), Doris Orr; and twelve grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 5 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary.

The funeral was Friday, October 6 at 2:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

MARTHA BROWN BLUME

Martha Brown Blume, 64, of Anderson, died Monday, October 2, 2017 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Harold Brown and the late Mary Lou White Brown.

She was a member of Belmont Church of God of Prophecy.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Dale Blume; daughters, Vicky Cobb of Anderson and Jean Todd of Iva; brothers, James Brown of Anderson, Doug Brown of Iva, Danny Brown of Williamston, Roger Brown of Anderson, and Timmy Brown of Seneca; sisters, Debbie Epps of Belton, and Wanda Kilgore of Anderson; and four grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Friday, October 6 at Belmont Church of God of Prophecy. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

CATHRYN C. TAYLOR

Cathryn Chapman Taylor, 95, of Williamston, wife of the late James Edward “Dudder” Taylor, died Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at her home.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Annie Cooley Chapman. She was formerly employed with Kendall Company and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She is survived by son, Dewayne Taylor of Williamston; daughter, Dorinda T. Cox of Seneca; and two grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Sunday, October 8, at Trinity Baptist Church. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

CARRIE LOKEY

Carrie Marie Selfridge Lokey, 33, of Piedmont died Monday, October 2, 2017 at her home.

She was born in Greenville and was a daughter of Sherrie Marie Sisco Selfridge of Liberty and the late Carl Eugene Selfridge.

She was store manager of Sherwin Williams in Mauldin.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by brother, Kenneth Selfridge of Piedmont; sister, April Dawn Hill of Liberty;  and grandmother, Joan Marie Pitts.

  Funeral service was held Saturday, October 7, in the chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

‘MAC’ BANNISTER

WILLIAMSTON – Ronnie Malcolm “Mac” Bannister, 81, husband of Betty McAlister Bannister, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017.

Born in Belton, he was the son of the late Floyd and Lorene Banister Bannister.

He was retired from Cryovac, a U.S. Army veteran, an avid fisherman and a member of Williamston Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Rhonda Michele Broughton (Steven) of Anderson; sister, Lynn Vaughn (Hubert) of Belton; granddaughter, Brandie Nichole Liles (Jeff) of Williamston; great-granddaughters, Brooklyn Grace and Allie Blair Liles.

Visitation was from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.  The funeral service followed at 3 p.m. in the mortuary chapel with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

JAMIE DAVIS

PELZER – Jamie Frances Davis, 83, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017.

Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin and Caroline “Lina” Brown Davis.

She was retired from Providence Hospital in Columbia and Greenville Memorial Hospital.  She was a charter member of South Carolina Hospital Admitting Managers (SCHAM) and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

Survivors include cousins, Margaret Durham and Opal Morehead, both of Piedmont.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 7 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson with visitation following.

RANDALL HOWARD BALLEW II

Randall “Lil’ Randy” Ballew II, 40, of Powdersville, husband of Christie Robbins Ballew, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017.

Born in Greenville, a son to Randall Howard and Connie Jean Mann Ballew, he was the owner and operator of Randy Ballew and Son Roofing, LLC and was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Greenville.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by sisters, Donna Jean Ballew and Brandi Harshaw.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 7 at New Life Baptist Church in Greenville.

Burial followed at Robinson Memorial Gardens.

RACHEL SANDERS MERRITT

Rachel Sanders Merritt of Piedmont, died Thursday, October 5, 2017.

She was the widow of Carl F. Merritt, Sr. and the daughter of the late John Henry and Leona Sanders.

She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and retired from the Merritt Sales Company.

She is survived by four children; Susan M. Parson of Charlotte, NC, Carl F. Merritt, Jr. of Powdersville, Leigh M. Skoglund of Greenville, and J. Mark Merritt of Greenville; and six grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Sunday, Oct. 8 at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

ROBERT W. ‘BOB’ HAUBENREICH

Robert W. “Bob” Haubenreich, 60, husband of Janice Terry “Jan” Haubenreich, of Pelzer, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017.

Born in Oak Ridge, TN, he was a son of Mary Ann Walker Haubenreich and the late Paul N. Haubenreich.

He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and owner of Data Dynamics Consulting.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by two sons, John E. Haubenreich of Nashville, TN, and Matthew Evan Bowers of Redwood City, CA; two grandchildren; three brothers, Jim Haubenreich of Lexington, KY, Joe Haubenreich of Nashville, TN, and Paul Haubenreich, Jr. of Knoxville, TN; and sister, Fran McDonald of Louisville, TN.

A memorial service was held Sunday, Oct. 8 at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

TERRY WAYNE CHANDLER

Terry Wayne Chandler, 60, of Williamston, died Sunday, October 8, 2017.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late William Ira Chandler and Nancy Louise Young Chandler.

He was employed with Rogers Outdoor Equipment and attended Beulah Community Church.

Surviving are his fiance’, Tammy Seymore of the home; step children, Cody Seymore of Dacusville and Nina Gilbert and Candie Smith, both of Greenville; seven grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Hammond of Liberty and Jackie Holbrooks of Easley; and brothers, William Chandler and Roger Chandler, both of Liberty.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 12 from 4:30 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

WAYNE SMITH

Wayne Floyd Smith, 79, of Piedmont, husband of Nancy Hunt Wooten, died Saturday, October 7, 2017.

Born in Enoree, he was raised in Piedmont, son of the late Floyd W. and Devola Powell Smith.

He was owner of WFS Properties and was a member of Bessie Road Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Mark L. Smith of Greenville; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaugher.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, October 9 at Bessie Road Baptist Church.

RONNIE E. WALDROP

Ronnie Elza Waldrop, 76, of Greer, died October 9, 2017.

Born in Greenville County, son of the late Rufus Elza and Rennie Lou Smith Waldrop, he was retired from J.P. Stevens Dunean Plant and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Pat Pittman Waldrop of the home; three sons, Keith Waldrop of Williamston, Brian Waldrop of Easley and Tim Williams of Charlotte, NC; one step son, Danny Ray Williams; two sisters, Wanda W. Kelley of Townville and Kay W. Caudell of Commerce, GA; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

JENNIE JOHNSON

Jennie Lou Long Johnson, 88, of Piedmont, wife of the late Julius Ray Johnson, died Monday, October 9, 2017.

Born in Piedmont, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.O. Long. She retired from Parrott and Ballentine Construction. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Piedmont.

She is survived by daughter, Ann Rousseau of the home; son, Bill Johnson of Piedmont; and one grandson.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Thursday, October 12, at First Baptist Church, Piedmont. The service will follow at 2:00 pm at the church with burial at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery.
