Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents:
Oct. 24 – Due to unrest on E. Carolina Street following a shooting incident on Oct. 21, officers were providing community patrol in the area. While patrolling, officers observed a grey vehicle traveling at an accelerated speed on Carolina Street, pull into a parking space and the driver exited the vehicle and began cursing at the large crowd gathered at the top of the hill.
The driver, Elizabeth Leotha Bryant Brown, 31, 101 Bigby St., Greenville was arrested for disturbing the peace and transported to ACDC without incident. L. B Culberston investigated.
Oct. 26 – Michael Brent Pierce, 34, 404 Willow Dr., Piedmont was arrested for public drunkenness after officers were dispatched to 610 Greenville Dr., in reference to a break-in. According to reports, Pierce was beating on the door at 610 Greenville Drive and then he and the resident Mr. Jordan were involved in a physical altercation in which the two wrestled on the ground and exchanged blows. Jordan told officers Pierce was upset because his separated wife was at the residence. Both parties refused EMS and Jordan refused to press charges for assault. Due to Pierce being under the influence, driving a vehicle and grossly intoxicated, he was charged with public drunkenness and transported to ACDC without incident. K. Anthony, C. C. Oct. 27 – A Blackhawk holster 4 9MM with full metal jacket rounds was found in the roadway at the 900 Block of Greenville Dr., near Burger King. The pistol, holster and rounds were placed into evidence. L. B. Culbertson investigated.
Oct. 27 – Ace Hardware, 29 Pelzer Ave., Williamston reported an unknown suspect had two propane tanks filled and left without paying. The propane was valued at $24. G. Culbertson investigated.
Oct. 27 – Dollar General, 526 West Main St., Williamston reported a white female presented a counterfeit $20 bill in an attempt to purchase merchandise. According to reports, the female stated she did not know where she had obtained the bill and then left the store and the bill. No merchandise was taken. L. B. Culbertson investigated.
Oct. 30 – Michael Young Treadway, 27, 1133 Blount Rd., Belton was arrested for open container and public drunkenness after officers were dispatched in reference to an unresponsive white male in the Ace Hardware parking lot. According to reports an open 24 oz. Icehouse Edge can was found in the vehicle. He was arrested and transported to ACDC. C. C. Brown, K. Anthony investigated.
Oct. 30 – Jessica Leanne Higgins, 30, 236 Belton Dr., Williamston reported a red and black Huffy bicycle valued at $80 stolen from the front porch. The incident remains under investigation and will be presented to a judge for possible warrants. Sgt. L. E. Mulz investigated.
